Robert Pattinson and Lily-Rose Depp have joined Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet in the cast of Netflix’s upcoming film The King, which will focus on future King Henry V who “inherits the crown and must learn what it means to be a king, guided by his one true friend, Falstaff“.
While Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose is set to play the French Princess Catherine, former teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson will star as the French Dauphin and current Internet Boyfriend Timothée Chalamet will lead the cast as bad boy Prince Hal. Needless to say the announcement sent Stan Twitter into cardiac arrest.
Produced by Australia’s Porchlight Films and Brad Pitt‘s company Plan B, the Shakespeare-inspired period drama is based on a script by Animal Kingdom‘s director David Michod and Red Sparrow‘s actor Joel Edgerton, who stars in the film as well.
Sean Harris and Ben Mendelsohn have also joined the production, which begins June 1 in the UK. Other cast members include Tom Glynn-Carney and Thomasin McKenzie.
