After a couple of years of silence in the music scene, Robin Thicke has returned with a brand new single titled “Testify”. The song has been produced by Thicke himself and his producer Pro J. and is the first track to be released as part of his own label Thicke Music, in collaboration with EMPIRE.
The R&B singer has shared true and heartfelt emotions with this new single. Thicke has opened up about the difficult past years of his life, which includes the sudden passing of his father, the separation from his ex-wife Paula Patton and his current girlfriend April Love Geary’s miscarriage.
“Testify” follows Thicke’s 2014 debut album Paula which he had dedicated to his ex-wife. After four years the artist is finally preparing a new project. He has shared his intentions with the new track as well as the themes of his upcoming debut album:
“When I made this record I wanted to sing my whole truth and lead off the new album singing my ass off. So I think sometimes tragedy makes you count your blessings. So the album will hopefully be littered with some spirituality and some finding yourself. But it also is about, let’s celebrate all this greatness we have around us”.
