Bassist and vocalist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher make up the Rock duo Royal Blood founded in Brighton 2013. Before the recent burst of success for the band, Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders wore a T-Shirt of theirs during a set at Glastonbury Festival. In November 2013, the duo released their debut single “Out Of The Black”, with the B-Side “Come On Over”. Soon after that, it was announced that they would be supporting Arctic Monkeys on two Finsbury Park shows and towards the end of the year, Royal Blood where nominated for the BBC Sound Of 2014.
They finally released their self-titled debut studio album in 2014, featuring all the singles that had previously been released. This year the duo are still going strong, supporting The Foo Fighters on numerous tours, having supports from legends such as Jimmy Page, winning the BRIT Award for ‘Best British Group’ and going over to America to perform on the chat show Conan. You can watch the video of their live performance of single “Figure It Out” below.
