British indie pop band Sea Girls have released their latest single, “Young Strangers“, a track that showcases the band’s knack for crafting melodic, intelligent pop music.
Released on 17th November, the single is a preview of their upcoming third album, set to drop next year under their label Alt. Records. Alongside this exciting release, Sea Girls have also announced a UK & Ireland tour scheduled for March 2024.
“Young Strangers” is co-written with renowned musician and producer Kid Harpoon, known for his work on Harry Styles’ Grammy-winning album Harry’s House and collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Haim, and Florence & The Machine.
The track is described by frontman Henry Camamile as a song about the connection and shared aspirations between two people who have just met, reflecting on their desire to break free from life’s routine and find meaning.
The band’s collaboration with Kid Harpoon in LA was a natural fit, with Camamile noting the writing process was like working with an old friend. This new single follows the band’s recent track “Weekends & Workdays”, marking a phase of creative rejuvenation for Sea Girls. “Weekends & Workdays” received significant airplay and was named Tune Of The Week on BBC Radio 1, further solidifying the band’s appeal.
As they gear up for their third album, Sea Girls are poised to make a powerful artistic statement. The album aims to explore personal and universal themes, offering a perspective to understand the world and move forward with a positive outlook. Touted as their strongest work yet, the upcoming album is expected to be a beacon of joy throughout 2024.
The ‘Young Strangers’ tour in 2024 will take Sea Girls to new venues, including London’s iconic KOKO, mentioned in their fan-favorite song “Transplant”. Fans can look forward to a Special Edition signed vinyl of the third album, featuring photos from the upcoming tour.
Tour dates include stops in Belfast, Dublin, Manchester, Edinburgh, Leeds, Bristol, Southampton, and London, promising an exciting series of performances for Sea Girls fans across the UK and Ireland. With “Young Strangers” and the anticipation of their new album, Sea Girls continue to cement their place as a significant force in the modern music scene.
