Selena Gomez will release her first-ever Spanish EP Revelacion on March 12, which has been preceded by the Spanish singles “De Una Vez” and “Baila Conmigo”, but these were not her first foray into Spanish music, she had previously released “Taki Taki” and “I Can’t Get Enough” as collaborative efforts.
In the lead up to the release of her EP, the singer and Rauw Alejandro performed her new Spanish-language single “Baila Conmigo” this year’s Premio Lo Nuestro award ceremony, which took place on February 18 in Miami, in what was Selena’s debut performance at the award ceremony.
Despite the singer releasing multiple projects in the past, which have all been successful, this project feels different for Selena, as there is a real personal interest with this project due to her Mexican heritage. Speaking about it, she said: “This has been something I’ve wanted to do for 10 years, working on a Spanish project, because I’m so, so proud of my heritage, and just genuinely felt like I wanted this to happen”.
Gomez is a two-time Premio Lo Nuestro award nominee. In 2019, she, along with DJ Snake, Ozuna and Cardi B, took home the trophy for Crossover Collaboration for “Taki Taki”, and last year, she was nominated in the same category for “I Can’t Get Enough” with Benny Blanco, J Balvin and Tainy.
“Baila Conmigo” is all about dance and love, with the live performance offering fans an alternative visual to the music video for the song, you can watch it below.
