If you happened to be a huge fan of superhero (and anti-hero) movies, like I am, then 2016 will definitely be a great year, since, unfortunatly for our wallets, seven long-awaited superhero blockbusters are coming out.
Kicking off the superhero movies season will be the upcoming feature Deadpool, eighth installment of the X-Men franchise, which will hit the theatres in February 4 in the UK and February 12 in the US.
Still from the X-Men franchise is, of course, X-Men: Apocalypse, sequel of 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, which will be released in May 19 in the UK and May 27 in the US, and Gambit, the upcoming solo movie with Channing Tatum as the lead character which is still a mystery, but will arrive to the cinemas later this year, in October 7.
From the Marvel studios we will also see the third movie starring The Captain, titled Captain America: Civil War, out on April 29 in the UK and May 6 in the US,.
On March 25 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released in both UK and US, being the first DC movie of 2016, to which will follow the supervillain-themed (and probably one of the most awaited feature of the year) Suicide Squad, out on August 5.
Finally, outside the Marvel and DC monopoly of the superhero movies’ world, we will see the Ninja Turtles in action again in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, scheduled to be released on the 3rd of June.
