Sharon Stone is set to embark into a world of crime in upcoming dark comedy-thriller, Sunny. The film comes from Eva Sørhaug who directs, with William Day Frank having materialised the idea into a solid script that sees Stone become a drug kingpin and mob mistress.
In more detail, the character is said to be a woman “who radiates perfection on the surface, but has 24 hours to get out of town before the local mob boss discovers her family’s devastating secret“.
That Basic Instinct scene seemingly continues to proceed the actress, as Sørhaug comments that Stone “is the perfect actress to bring Sunny and all of her complexities to the screen,” with “her effortless ability to play strong, sexy women [allowing her to] take this fierce female character to the next level.”
Sunny is Sørhaug’s English-language feature directorial debut, following Norwegian directions 90 Minutes and Cold Lunch. Sunny is due to be shopped by the American Film Market starting next month. Sørhaug and Frank produce alongside Lost City’s Mason Novick and John Finemore, with James Hoppe and Elizabeth Grave executives.
Recently, Stone appeared in James Franco’s The Disaster Artist, and will star in Steven Soderbergh’s six-part HBO series, Mosaic.
