Another day, another ‘Hottest Record in the World’ from Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1: this time the lucky one is none but the rightfully uber-hyped Shura. The Manchester-born singer premiered the latest single from her debut album Nothing’s Real, out July 8 via Polydor.
“What’s It Gonna Be?” features dreamy vocals and glossy 80s synths, already signature marks of the young artist, as well as pumping, almost D’n’B-y drum and an infectious chorus straight from a Madonna’s album from 3 decades ago: definitely a twist from what Shura used to offer us, but a much appreciated one.
You can listen to the song on Apple Music or through the player below.
Shura is set to play her biggest gig to date on June 1, at KOKO (LONDON), and we’re sure it will be a blast. She also announced to be seventh months pregnant: congratulations!
