Simon Cowell Urges ITV To Pick Up ‘The Voice UK’ | TV News

Earlier in the year, ITV bought ‘The Voice UK’ from creator Talpa Media for £355 million, and now, according to Simon Cowell, it’s about high time that they began airing the show on their channel as well. The airing of The Voice UK on ITV would mean it would have to be snatched from BBC, who, as it was announced in August, cut both Rita Ora and Tom Jones from the panel of judges. Cowell feels that the situation could have been handled better, as Tom Jones confirmed that he was not aware of the cut until the absolute last minute.

Boy George and Paloma Faith will be replacing the two judges, although it seems that even this new pair may stir up a bit trouble due to reports of an intense argument taking place during filming. Oh dear! Whilst Simon Cowell did admit that snatching the show from BBC would be a little unfair as they have made it into a great one, he also insisted that he wouldn’t see a problem with ITV airing the show if they did acquire the rights. So if ITV does decide to nab The Voice, that would mean it would have to share a home with The X Factor! Well, two singing competitions on one channel could equal quite a lot of drama, if you ask me.
