A month on since Wizkid and friends descended upon the O2 Arena for Afro Republik and one of the standout moments of the night was definitely Skepta hitting the stage to perform the remix of the smash hit “Ojuelegba“. With their last appearance together coming on the track back in 2015, it seems like the magic hasn’t faded as they team up once again on a new track that is destined for the dancefloors.
Slightly slower than some of their other bangers, the mid-tempo track typifies their latest cut “Energy (Stay Far Away)“. Surprisingly, it works and you definitely can’t deny it; between Skepta’s low-slung bars and Wizkid’s ultra smooth melodies, the effortless afro rhythms shine through and make it more than capable to liven up your Saturday night.
“Energy (Stay Far Away)” marks the first time the pair have officially worked together and comes after Wizkid’s appearance alongside Naomi Campbell at Milan Men’s Fashion Week for Dolce & Gabbana and after Skepta appearing on the track “Praise The Lord (Da Shine)” with A$AP Rocky.
