“Gold and Green” is the new single from Slaughter Beach, Dog the track is taken from his upcoming album titled Birdie, it will be dropping on October 27 via Big Scary Monsters and Lame-O Records.
Slaughter Beach, Dog is the solo project from Jake Ewald of Modern Baseball. With this new project, he tries to bridges the gap between what Modern Baseball has been doing and its emotional indie-rock sensibilities.
“Gold and Green” is an expansive and intimate song, the singer Jake Ewald tried to skirt the lines between half a dozen genres, creating a song that’s able to mine vintage genres like folk and country in order to make something contemporary. The melody is catchy and tuneful and the instrumental accompaniments perfectly harmonizes folk elements such as the acoustic guitar and tambourine with a pop-rock arrangement. The voice of the singer is delicate and sweet.
