After Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice the DC film slate includes 2 Justice League films, solo films for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and more, but Man of Steel 2 is not on the docket. Will we be getting another standalone Superman film any time soon?
Talking to IGN director Zack Snyder said:
“I think if we could get a good script it would be great to have a standalone Superman movie, part of the reason we haven’t announced the standalone Superman movie was to support some of the events of [Batman V Superman].”
Superman himself Henry Cavill said:
“I do believe it depends on the success of this movie. If this goes well then we can start to negotiate with Warner Bros. for a standalone Superman movie. But they’ve got their plans set out for other stuff and Justice Leagues and various other movies, so it’s about finding the time, really. It’s something that I would be very keen to do.”
Cavill did tease that there was a chance he’d be showing up in the standalone Wonder Woman film and he is sure to feature at some point in the justice league films.
The critically unpopular but visually creative Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is in cinemas now.
