Solange may be Beyoncé’s younger sibling, but she definitely is not living her life in Beyoncé’s shadow. She not only is a successful musician but she is well respected in the fashion world, not only is she the new art director & creative consultant for Puma, she has teamed up with online retailer eBay to create a handpicked unique collection.
In the recent issue of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine, the younger Knowles flaunts her colourful style as the 27-year-old fashionista is photographed by Julia Noni and rocks a patterned Ralph Lauren sweater, a flowery Moschino jumpsuit, and skirt, and a Chanel dress in the Spring fashion spread.
When speaking about her past sense of style, Solange told Harper’s Bazaar, “you can pull images of me from seven to 14 years ago and I was absolutely nuts, I have always been drawn to interesting pieces and colours, but I didn’t quite know how to limit myself and make those statement pieces work“.
When her son Julez began school Solange found time to finally go through her belongings and feels more content with her taste and wardrobe: “I had to stabilize our lives and stay in one place, it sounds silly, I know, but having space for my clothes made a huge difference. I was able to get organized, free myself of clutter, and develop a style that felt like me“.
She also adds in the interview with Harper’s that, “for the first time in my life, I’m basing every decision around the idea of whether I want to do it or if I think it will be inspiring. And that’s paid off for me“. We look forward to seeing what Solange achieves in all her next ventures; have a look at some of the pictures for the Harper’s Bazaar fashion spread below.
