Seasoned songwriter Harper Allen released her new single, “We’re Listening To TS“, a pop anthem that pays homage to Taylor Swift on February 14.
At only 23 years old, Allen’s songwriting has already amassed over 35 million streams, with credits on everything from Netflix originals to the iTunes Top-10 country charts. Now, the LA-based artist is ready to tell her own story and establish herself as an indie-pop force to be reckoned with.
“We’re Listening to TS” is a catchy and romantic track that captures the feeling of being in love with someone who ruins your favorite songs and leaves you wanting more. The song showcases Allen’s sweet vocals and picked acoustics that give way to electric guitars and a four-on-the-floor beat, an homage to her inspiration, Taylor Swift. However, while the track references Swift, it is entirely Allen’s own sound and story.
As a multi-instrumentalist, Allen’s music draws inspiration from a range of artists, including Maisie Peters, Noah Cyrus, and Leanna Firestone. Her gift for combining soft vocals with hard concepts shines through in her music, reflecting her struggles with codependent love, bipolar disorder, sexuality, and self-image.
Despite her impressive success as a songwriter, Allen is now focused on crafting her own story and lyrics. Her first single, “We’re Listening to TS,” will be followed by two more singles in the spring, with a full EP in the works. She is also playing several live shows around the LA area.
Born in Minnesota and now based in LA, Harper Allen has been singing since birth and writing songs since the age of 11. With her debut single, she is set to take the indie-pop world by storm, showcasing her unique sound and captivating storytelling abilities.
