After recently locking in a big deal with World Poker Fund Holdings, Soulja Boy has taken to Twitter to talk about the future of his music, and more specifically, his label, SODMG.
He announced out of the blue that he is dropped every artist from the label, saying, “There’s no artist signed to SODMG. I dropped them all. I’m starting off the roster new and clean for 2016”. Before this announcement, there was almost 30 artists signed to the label.
He followed up the tweet with another, explaining, “God is great. So thankful for the blessings. And thanks for blessing me to see the snakes and remove them from my life. Needed that”. Previous signings to the label have included Lil B and Riff Raff among others.
Soulja Boy is still due to release an album next month via the label, but it is unclear whether this will have any impact on any other forthcoming albums the label previously announced for release later this year.
Regardless of the reasons behind the move, it’ll be interesting to see what moves Soulja Boy makes with SODMG following this. Soulja Boy’s sixth studio album, Better Late Than Never, is due for release Thursday, June 9.
