Amy Swift is an up and coming British singer and songwriter and her new single “More To Us” is the first taste of her upcoming album that is set to arrive in January 2022.
hailing from South East London, Amy Swift grew up on the sounds of Soul, Jazz and Motown, with her distinctive vocals and writing abilities garnering interest across the UK music scene. She had previous been the lead singer for soul and electronica band Pacific State but is now paving her own way as a solo artist.
She comes with recent support from the likes of The Guardian and BBC Radio London, and burst onto the scene in 2019, winning Madison Square Gardens Group’s ‘Artist of the Month’ in September of that year, as well as supporting Natacha Atlas on her European Tour, getting featured on BBC 6 Music and performing on national TV.
She has spent the past year working on her debut album titled Moving, which is set for release in January 2022 via Little Assembly. “More To Us” is the first track from the upcoming album.
Speaking about the inspiration behind “More To Us”, Amy Swift says, “The song is ultimately a song about heartbreak. About questioning yourself in a relationship, and if your partner really loves you.
You know you deserve so much more but you’re in love with them and don’t want to let it go. I was really inspired by Burt Bacharach on this track, the lyrics are really quite sad and heart-breaking, so I wanted the music to be beautiful and uplifting, creating the juxtaposition he always did so well”.
