“Im where I want to be … In my life… in my life” are the lyrics that immediately kick off the brand new single from sibling duo Southern and when you hear the new track that is entitled “Where I Want To Be” (if you hadn’t already guessed), I’m sure you too would not mind being where this young, dynamic and genre defying band currently are in life.
Southern are a Belfast born, Liverpool based duo in the form of Thom and Lucy, and as brother and sister, they clearly are aware of each others strengths, of which they play to, and the new single really accentuates this with Thom’s raspy vocals being belted out so strongly leading this single, and then Lucy’s more gentle and delicate harmonies carrying the sound through against the thunderous riffs and Indie guitar explosion.
“Where I Want To Be” is such an exciting and fresh single that is sure to take these guys into new places in their lives (if they want to go), so I am sure this song will be as fitting for the duo in years to come, because I can see things only moving forward for this eclectic and promising pair.
