The Swedish music, podcast and video streaming service Spotify is going to host its first live music event in UK on November 30, 2017, at the iconic north London venue Alexandra Palace. The event is titled Who We Be and aims to celebrate the best of urban, grime and hip hop from UK and beyond.
This event is specifically influenced by the Spotify playlist of the same name, that features the best in Rap and Grime. The big music concert will have famous urban artists performing, such as Bugzy Malone, Cardi B, Dizzee Rascal, Giggs, J Hus and Stefflon Don, who between them, have had over half a billion streams on Spotify.
The event ‘Who We Be’ is curated by Spotify’s in-house music team that is led via Senior Editor, Austin Daboh. Daboh describes that the concert is based on hard work which now results in successful and talented artist, who now will be celebrated under a spectacular venue.

Who We Be Live at Alexandra Palace is Spotify’s first ever concert in the UK and will bring together some of the biggest and most exciting artists under one roof for an unforgettable night.”
‘Who We Be’ also signifies Spotify’s success and their ability to be hosting a live music event – collaborating with promoters SJM, and continuing to share and support within UK urban music. In terms of some artists blooming careers, Spotify have been a major key role by promoting them via various playlists.
For example, Bugzy Malone who started on the ‘New Music Friday’ playlist, and went onto ‘Who We Be’ and then ‘Hot Hits UK’, which is UK’s largest pop playlist.
