Poster artist Drew Struzan, involved in the Star Wars saga since its origin in the 1970s, stated in an interview with Movie Weekly that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is “beautifully made and it’s a wonderful story”. He goes on to assure fans with confidence that “it is far and away probably going to be THE BEST Star Wars you’ve ever seen”.
After the original trilogy, released between 1977 and 1983 acquired one of the most dedicated fan bases in cinema history, it is hard to imagine how a new film can be better. However, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will see Harrison Ford (accompanied by his loyal partner, Chewbacca), Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill all reprise their roles, which has already delighted many fans.
Aside from the cast, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also see the return of composer John Williams and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote the scripts for Star Wars Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.
It may be difficult for fans to take the comments of a man so heavily involved in the franchise too literally. However, with the list of talents involved in the saga’s latest installment, it is safe to say that, if not the best, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will surely be spectacular! Star Wars: The Force Awakens will open in cinemas on 18 December.
