Stereo Kicks have thanked their fans after performing at their final show together at Thorpe Park’s Island Beats event on Saturday (July 25). Turning to Twitter, Charlie from the band said: “Thank you everybody! This has been the best year of my life with these other seven brothers, not friends. BROTHERS – Charlie“, and James added: “so that was our last gig as Stereo Kicks. from the beginning right to the end we owe it all to you. thank-you for everything – jake x“. Band member Casey Johnson tweeted: “Very emotional. I can’t stress how much I wanted this to work. You’re well and truly the best fans EVER. The hard work you guys have put in Is AMAZING! Something I will never forget!!! All the Love CJ“.
Last week, the boy band announced the split. In an interview with Digital Spy Stereo Kicks’ James Graham spoke about how difficult it is making such a huge band work by saying: “We tried. We tried really hard. We gave it everything. Every second of every day, we were working and promoting and singing and writing. We absolutely worked our balls off, but the reality is we didn’t get a label. There’s so many of us – we don’t live in the same place. We live from Essex to Ireland to London to Devon to Southampton. It’s impossible to carry on. We can’t fund that ourselves“.
The band was made up of Charlie, Jake, James, Casey, Barclay Beales, Chris Leonard, Tom Mann and Reece Bibby and was put together as a band by X-Factor bosses, during the 2014 show after they all auditioned individually. Their first and only single “Love Me So” debuted at #31 in the UK Singles Chart. Watch Stereo Kicks’ “Love Me So” below.
