Swedish Duo Sixten Share ‘Atlantic’ From New EP ‘Misemotional’

Swedish sibling duo sixten, composed of Tova and Sigge Strandell, have released their highly anticipated second EP, Misemotional, on August 23. The EP delivers a blend of 90s-inspired country pop, taking listeners on an emotional journey through themes of joy, sorrow, hope, and confusion.

Misemotional marks the duo’s return eight years after their debut EP, *Chance of Rain*. The new EP reflects the complex emotions they’ve navigated since their 2019 hit “Slip,” which led to a name change and rekindled their passion for music. The title ‘Misemotional’ embodies the conflicting feelings the duo has explored, with tracks that oscillate between intense emotional expression and subdued introspection.

The focus track, “Atlantic,” co-written with Johan Lindbrandt, captures the emotional core of the EP. Through evocative lyrics like “All of the Atlantic between,” the song conveys a sense of longing and unresolved emotions, wrapped in a nostalgic yet modern pop melody. This track serves as the emotional centerpiece of the EP, offering listeners a deep and reflective experience.

Misemotional showcases sixten’s ability to balance contrasting emotional states, creating music that resonates on a personal level. Their sound, characterized by timeless melodies and heartfelt lyrics, explores themes of identity, love, and life’s ups and downs. With this EP, sixten continues to craft music that is both sophisticated and unpretentious, solidifying their place as one of Sweden’s most compelling pop acts.

As they embark on this new chapter, sixten remains committed to their artistic vision, creating music that is honest and deeply moving, while remaining unaffected by fleeting trends.
