Swim Deep marked their long awaited return and welcome with the release of their new single “To my Brother”, which is the first piece of music to follow up from 2013’s album Where The Heavens Are We. The four man band, which formed in Birmingham in 2011 and is made up of vocalist Austin Williams, guitarist Tom Higgins, Bassist Cavan McCarthy, and drummer Zachary Robinson, gained on-going press interest as well as a fan following with the release of debut single “King City”.
“To My Brother” premiered recently on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show, the single which is now available to download via iTunes, fuses a gospel-tinged melody to an acid house indie beat, while wavering a euphoric baseline. The record offers a mix of vintage acid house, classic synth pop and alternative indie, which gives us an insight into the band’s upcoming second album which is due to be released later this summer. Having already confirmed their appearance at Live At Leads in May, Swim Deep have a short run of UK dates listed below.
