Synthesizer pioneer, Don Buchla, has passed away at the age of 79, known for his importance in creating early synthesizers and some of the first MIDI compatible instruments. He created his first modular synth in 1963, and started a career selling them by 1966. His son, Ezra, confirmed of his passing on Wednesday, September 14 following complications involving his cancer, something that led to him selling his company in 2012 due to illness.
