Sexism is not something to be taken lightly in Western society, and even though rapper T.I. recited a common disclaimer – “Not to be sexist but” – what he said was pretty sexist. In a recent interview with DJ Whoo Kidd when talking about Hilary Clinton, he said that “I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman” and “I just know that women make rash decisions, emotionally”.
The following day, he apologised on Twitter by stating: “My comments about women running for president were unequivocally insensitive and wrong. I sincerely apologise to everyone I offended”. It’s pretty surprising that someone would hold such outdated views and actually voice them in public but hey, at least he apologised.
