American rapper T.I. and singer Teyana Taylor take justice into their own hands in a brand-new dual music video for “You (Be There)”. The visuals feature the last two singles from the rapper’s latest album Dime Trap. “You”, a collaboration with Taylor, and “Be There”, which features London Jae.
Directed by Teyana Taylor herself, the clip opens with the duo lying in bed while watching a TV news report about a rapist. “There’s some people on the Earth that just don’t need to be here… Some people just deserve to die,” T.I. sentences. After talking about it for a while, the artists decide to go out and end evil people themselves.
As the first single starts, “You”, they get into a church and kill a pastor accused of child molestation. They then head to a motel, where they murder a police officer who was committing sexual assault.
The bloody clip is combined with footage of the musicians singing at where it seems to be a parking and ends badly for Taylor, who is shot in the middle of the chaos and dies.
The “Be There” part then starts, with just T.I. on board and a mood-changing scenario that contrasts with the first section of the video. Romantic flashbacks of a young couple set the tone for T.I.’s solo part.
However, the ending kills the vibe and makes you go back to the ugly truth with a shocking and alarming message. “3,600 minors are sold into sex slavery every year in the state of Georgia,” the caption reads. “One out of every 10 sexual abuse survivors will never tell.”
