South London singer, songwriter and musician Terrence Orlando burst unto the scene earlier this year, with BBC Introducing, BBC 1Xtra, and Radar Radio among others, championing his latest track “Winter’s Coming Up”. Buoyed by rave reviews and support from some of the UK’s leading tastemakers, Orlando is proud to unveil his debut project titled Issues In Representation.
The 3-track Issues In Representation EP sees Terrence Orlando collaborating with producers Intervene, Title and Tyler Straub, and East London rapper Rageouz, who features on the EP’s opening track “Wish You Were Me”, and can also be heard on skits throughout the EP in conversation with Orlando, about the trajectory of their respective music careers.
From the soulful, confident and passionate “Wish You Were Me” with its groovy R&B and Hip-Hop sensibilities, to the darker and purposeful, Garage tinged “Run For Your Life”, to the pacey drum & bass offering ‘Be Who You Wanna Be’, which brings the EP to a motivational close, Terrence Orlando shows off his versatility, creativity and authenticity all over this EP, to glorious effect.
Described as a “motivational masterpiece”, Issues In Representation explores the need for confidence, self-belief and drive in today’s society of constant distractions. According to Orlando, “very few of us trust our ideas enough to try, and for those battling with resistance, I hope this project puts us in the right mind-set, and teaches us all how not to give a f**k”.
