Even though Pixar has a few sequels planned for release this year, the studio unveiled their first trailer for their original movie, Coco.
Coco is a story, inspired by the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos. Twelve-year old, Miguel (Anthony Gonzales), is an aspiring musician who dreams to follow in the steps of his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt). His dream leads him to the vibrant Land of the Dead, where he must team with a trickster (Gael García Bernal) to uncover a long-forgotten family secret. Oh, by the way, his dog’s called Dante, how cool is that?!
At first glance Coco bears a striking resemblance to The Book Of Life and Laika’s recent hit, Kubo And The Two Strings, but we know there’s more to it. After all, the project is helmed by Lee Unkrich, the man behind Toy Story 3. Relive Pixar’s magic in the trailer below:
