The final trailer for the Rian Johnson all-star film Knives Out has been revealed and it shows off more shocking footage of the upcoming murder-mystery story.
Director Rian Johnson is bringing the whodunnit of the year with this mysterious black-comedy film, which follows the story of two detectives who investigate the murder of the wealthy patriarch Harlan Thrombey.
Like the previous trailers, the visuals reveal the basic plot, that sees Daniel Craig’s character, Benoit Blanc, trying to solve the mystery next to his partner Troy Archer, played by Lakeith Stanfield. Detectives play ‘Cluedo’ with the members of the Thrombey family, taking them one by one to ask them questions so they can find who is guilty.
“The family is truly desperate. When people get desperate, the knives come out. This is a twisted web, and we are not finished untangling it. Not yet,” says Blanc in the trailer. The intriguing, and hilarious at the same time, interviews are partially revealed in the new clip, including footage of stars Chris Evans, Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis, Katherine Langford and many more.
The film will be premiered on October 8 in Leicester Square for the BFI London Film Festival 2019. Director of the festival Tricia Tuttle said about the exciting event that “With Knives Out, Rian Johnson has crafted a devilishly clever and wickedly entertaining new crime caper”.
“As with his previous work, Johnson brings immense erudition and passion for the conventions of the genre he’s working in, but always makes something entirely his own. This is impeccably designed, with writing that keeps you guessing to the final moments and his extraordinary cast are at their arch and compelling best,” she then added.
