John Bradbury, drummer of the two tone ska revival band The Specials, has died on December 28 at the age of 62. The sad news was announced by the band with a short but deep tweet, where they called Bradbury “the world’s greatest drummer“.
Pioneer of the third wave of reggae, which mixed Seventies’ New Wave and punk with elements from the classic Jamaican ska, The Specials have been active from 1977 and performed with a different line-up until they reunited in 2008. Bradbury joined the band in 1979, and participated in the reunion tour from 2009 until his death.
The cause of death has not been confirmed yet.
