Grammy Award-winning artist Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weeknd, has partnered with Amazon Studios to create an immersive music special titled The Dawn FM Experience. The visual music performance will premiere this Saturday, February 26th, exclusively on Amazon Prime.
Directed by Micah Bickham, The Dawn FM Experience will immerse audiences into the unnerving world of The Weeknd’s Dawn FM album. Released last month, the album reached number one in ten countries and featured special guests such as Tyler, The Creator and Lil Wayne.
“Welcome to the next phase of Dawn FM — a purgatory otherworld where live performance, theater, and performance art collide for a night out at the club”, says The Weeknd.
As well as a visual expression of the album, The Weeknd will perform eight additional songs during the special. Prime members will be able to stream the eight tracks exclusively on Amazon Music from February 26th onwards.
Prime Video have also released an official teaser trailer of the upcoming special. Even though the trailer does not give too much away, it does reveal The Weeknd’s old man character which was first seen by fans on the Dawn FM album cover.
