Theophilus London has returned from his hiatus from music, announcing on social media that he is “back for [his] Day 1s”. The Brooklyn rap artist also dropped his latest single, “Stay”, which will be on his upcoming album, NY Theo, a follow-up to 2014’s Vibes.
The track is a Greg Wells-produced instrumental, and begins sedate, before the bass synthesiser kicks in, becoming quite animated. The vocals are a mix of warm vocals and expert rapping flow. The latter definitely gets right into the pocket. More or less acapella towards its end, predominantly tinkling keys and vocals, it fades out with that bass.
