Every time Nigerian director Kemi Adetiba creates a new music video, the buzz surrounding it spreads like wildfire! Her latest offering for Tiwa Savage’s single “My Darlin” is no different, fans and musicians alike have been raving about the visuals for this song since it came out last week. Without giving too much away, the video sees a much older Tiwa reminiscing on her darling and the love story that they shared, whilst her own daughter is preparing for her wedding day. By the time you get to the end of this story, you will understand why fans are praising Ms Adetiba over the chosen concept; it definitely pulls on the heartstrings. Of course the way the video was shot and edited is also worth rating, as there are so many little touches that bring out the sense of romance and nostalgia in this story. Beady-eyed fans may also recognise the ‘darling’ played by Emmanuel Ikubese as a familiar face. As well as winning the title of ‘Mr Nigeria 2014’, Ikubese starred alongside Tiwa Savage in the hit MTV series Shuga. All the more reason to check out the video below!
