Torii Wolf has just released the visuals for her new single “Pain Killer”, the artist debut album will be out on September 29 via via DJ Premier’s TTT record label.
Torii’s new album was entirely produced by iconic hip-hop producer DJ Premier, who has collaborated with B.I.G, Jay-Z, Nas, Dr. Dre, Kanye West, and may more during his lounge carrier.
Speaking about the collaboration she said: “But I didn’t go into this really with the knowledge of being the first and only female artist he’s ever done a full album with, because that kind of just happened. We just kept creating.”
The music video for “Pain Killer” is dark and intense, the idea of suffering, pain and loneliness is perfectly transmitted by the images. The singer sings in an abandoned, grafitti-decorated room.
Talking about the visual Torii explained: “I want to create a space for people to — for their imagination to go. I don’t want to just hand somebody a story. I feel like keeping it open and vague and visually or stimulating in one way or another, or sonically stimulating”. Watch the official video for “Pain Killer” below
