Richard Linklater , upon announcing that he would be doing a movie entitled Everybody Wants Some took a very big gamble when he named it The spiritual successor to Dazed and Confused. The joy was there, but so was the uncertainty. Unfortunately the uncertainty overweighs the joy. For obvious reasons too. Dazed and Confused was (still is) a cult film, a reference point to the genre of getting by in high school.
So much that Quentin Tarantino rates it as one of his most loved films. It was reminiscent of American Graffiti, and would feature to be Hollywood heavyweights such as Matthew McConaughey (who could forget his line: ‘Alright, alright, alright’). Ben Affleck, Renee Zellweger and Milla Jovovich also starred in the hit 90s movie. So it’s a normal feeling when one hears that a sequel to such an awesome film is done. What ifs really paint a picture.
What if its a flop? What if it’s too superficial? What if it’s something we’ve seen before? What happens then to the legacy of the predecessor? What if it doesn’t produce future Hollywood bigwigs? However not every what if is skeptical? What if it’s another hit? What if it sets a box office record (mind you Dazed did not perform so good at the box office)? What if Rich outdoes himself and gives us a peach of a cult.
April 25, 2016 is the release date, and by then Paramount will know whether it was worth all the fuss. In the meantime we know you want some trailer :
