British fashion icon Twiggy is the new ambassador for L’Oréal’s successful L’Oréal Professional haircare line, with a particular focus on colour as she fronts the new blonde Majirel High Lift product. Cass Coulston, L’Oréal Professionnel’s UK general manager, said of Twiggy’s casting: “What is there not to love about Twiggy – she has always inspired women to look and feel their best. Recognised for creating global fashion trends within hair and beauty, Twiggy has always remained loyal to professional hair colour”.
Twiggy’s casting shows a continuation of L’Oréal’s new approach to celebrate ageing, having previously cast actresses Julianne Moore and Helen Mirren, and Coulston added that Twiggy’s “talent and ability to make trends her own makes her such an inspiration and women of all ages are sure to be lifted by her energy and beauty. We’re incredibly excited to welcome her as our UK ambassador for L’Oréal Professionnel”.
Twiggy, who is 65 and was born Lesley Hornby, spoke of her excitement of her new role: “I am absolutely delighted to become a L’Oréal Professionnel brand ambassador, I truly believe in the skill of the professional hairdresser and am so proud to represent the brand. My hair has always been important to me and has been a big part of my image throughout the years. I hope to inspire women to be confident in their personal style and never be afraid of trying something new”. Twiggy’s first campaign will appear in salons nationwide from February 2015.
