Ty Dolla $ign released his most recent album Beach House 3 to generally positive critical reviews and now finally the first video from the album has debuted. “Side Effects” is the latest music from the California artist, directed by Hugo Jenkins and the song itself was produced by Sons of Sonix and Poo Bear.
The video is an urban take on love and supposedly bares certain parallels with his own personal life. The protagonist, who with his locks bears some resemblance to Ty, is trying to juggle the pressures and demands of being a musician, being in a relationship and being amongst his brothers. All this if fuelled by the excessive consumption of marijuana.
With the song title itself alluding to the possible side effects of love and the drugs, you can imagine and infer from the title that things don’t work out so well.
