Unknown Mortal Orchestra have debuted new track “Can’t Keep Checking My Phone” from their upcoming album Multi-Love. The album will be released via Jagjaguwar on May 25 and will be the band’s third album to date. A UK tour has also recently been revealed, which will take them to Brighton, Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham in September. Furthermore, the band are due to play at Latitude Festival this July, with tickets on sale now.
The new song consists of the New Zealand trio imagining a world where we are less focused on technology, as lead singer Ruban Nielson explains: “‘Cant Keep Checking My Phone’ is about missing somebody and that point where you refuse to accept online “connectivity” as a substitute for being with someone IRL. When someone you love turns into texts and ideas delivered through a device, at some point, they’re competing with real things”. Check out the new track here.
