Canadian rapper and songwriter Edisunn has just released his brand new single titled “Up To Chance” on August 28. With an outstanding and refreshing balance between complex rapping, engaging melodies and poetic lyricism, the song is very catchy and vibrant.
Edisunn’s career started very early, as the young artist joined his sister’s band playing the bass at the age of 6. Then again, at age 12, he started writing songs with his step-brother to then create a rap duo called Get A Drone. This interesting collaboration gave birth to their EP The Laundromat Party, a seven-song project released in 2019.
The Toronto based artist is now working alongside his high school friend and Canadian producer Kieran Cousins, and the two of them are currently creating their upcoming EP Thinking Over Thinking, which is set for release later this year, from which “Up To Chance” serves as the third and final single.
With said song, Edisunn decided to take his fans with him on his journey of discovering the new love, emotions and feelings in his life. The discovery of this unidentified lover is reflected in the song’s lyrics, “I would be lucky to fuck with you, so what we gon do here what’s the plan. We can get this money too, up to you… we ain’t gotta leave it up to chance”.
19-year old Edisunn tries to put into words, his carpe diem view of life and his willingness to seize the present moment, appreciating life for everything that it gives us. The young artist’s unique and vibrating music has been inspired by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Anderson Paak and Immortal Technique.
