Vinyl Thief have drifted back onto our radars today after they teased their ever-tastier sound through “Healing” – the opening track lifted from their latest EP, Touch.
The four-piece indie-pop band from Nashville have been showcasing their diversity ever since the day their first LP Fathoms dropped in the summer of 2014. A year later, we saw a shift from their rock origins to electro-pop in singles “Longer” and “Bad Decisions” and it is this trait, alongside a noticeably refined production, that reappears once more as they subtly suffuse their sound with a hint of R&B.
Combining funky undertones with deep synths and frontman Grayson Proctor’s flowing range, the band bring us a trancelike tune that could single-handedly kickstart both their fast-approaching US tour and our soon-approaching summers. Touch will be available to not disappoint you from July 8.
