Wahyo, a talented rapper and producer from Flint, Michigan, has just released his latest single, “Somebody” featuring Lato 5ive. This new track showcases Wahyo’s continued evolution in the music industry, blending his unique style with fresh influences.
Wahyo’s journey into music began early. Growing up in a household filled with R&B and hip-hop, his musical interests were sparked in the 3rd grade when he joined the school band.
Encouraged by his mother to play the flute, he discovered his love for music, even though he later found out the flute was not as easy as he was led to believe. He continued playing the flute throughout elementary school.
Around the 6th grade, Wahyo started writing raps. Initially, he mimicked verses from the underground rapper Esham, which impressed his friends and motivated him to develop his own rapping skills. His musical taste was influenced by artists like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
In middle school, Wahyo began playing the baritone and continued to write raps, drawing inspiration from artists such as Mase and DMX. This period also marked a significant change in his life as his parents divorced.
In high school, Wahyo’s musical development took a significant turn when a friend named Cecil introduced him to the music production software Fruity Loops. This opened up a new world of possibilities for Wahyo, allowing him to explore the art of producing alongside writing. His dedication and hard work culminated in the release of his first project, Class Of 85, in 2020.
Now, with his new single “Somebody,” Wahyo continues to demonstrate his growth as an artist. The collaboration with Lato 5ive brings a fresh dynamic to the track, further solidifying Wahyo’s presence in the music scene. As he continues to evolve and innovate, fans can look forward to more exciting releases from this Flint, Michigan artist.
