After rapper Waka Flocka came with an exclusive “Wakapella” verse with no beat, just bars, it gave an opportunity for producers to go nuts. Dirty Decibels, a production duo consisting of Kno (of CunninLynguists) and DJ Flip Flop, have put their twist on things with their remix of “Pray For ‘Em”.
There seems to be an ominous choir of girls heralding an intense, serious rap affair with rattling drums with an industrial quality. There is a despairing quality to it all with that almost weeping vocal sample. The lyrics are also a tad more three dimensional than some of the output of their contemporaries, a tad philosophical in respects. What is more, the song does not even clock three minutes. That is two and a half plus minutes of a track that is condensed and with no filler.
