Despite critically worsening after the Oscar Award winning first film was released in 1976, the Rocky anthology is known as one of the greatest boxing film series in cinema history. The film starred Sylvester Stallone as the iconic Rocky Balboa and Carl Weathers as boxing opponent and then villain Apollo Creed.
Now, in 2015, the Rocky series has taken a alternative route down the perspective of Creed’s son, an upcoming, hungry boxer who is desperate to surpass the success of his father, whom he never knew due to him dying in the ring when fighting Russian machine Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) in Rocky IV. By the fourth film, Balboa and Creed had joined corners and became good friends, so now Creed’s son has seemingly approached the veteran and it looks as though the Italian Stallion feels inclined to coach the young boxer.
The spin-off is set to star Michael B. Jordan, who has also recently been cast as the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four reboot, as Creed, and of course, Stallone will be reprising his role as the now-retired Rocky Balboa. The underdog-boxing story is set to released to cinemas on November 25, 2015.
