Mary J Blige, the self-proclaimed ‘Queen of Hip Hop Soul’ was one of the highlights of Saturday’s 1Xtra Live concert at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena. The legendary singer made the appearance as she readies the release of her 13th studio album The London Sessions, which is due for release next Monday, November 24. Recorded in the capital, Mary J Blige has collaborated with artists such as Sam Smith, Emeli Sande and Naughty Boy for the inspired project which was recorded in just over 20 days.
