Just when people thought that the Alvin and the Chipmunks series had ended after the trilogy was completed, a fourth was revealed and yesterday, Fox released the first official trailer for Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. The first three were critically panned and even the series’ star, David Cross, recommended that people should not watch the third. Based on the trailer that correlates heavily with the previous three films, The Road Chip is going to face a parallel reception.
This time around, after a series of misunderstandings, Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) come to believe that Dave (Jason Lee) is going to propose to his new girlfriend in New York City… and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves from losing Dave. The Chipmunks are set to hit the road on December 23 (USA).
