Whitney Woerz’s Youtube debut with “Idea Of Her” has been very successful, the sixteen-year-old high school girl has reached over 1,000,000 views in just over a week. The single taken from her forthcoming EP Iridescen, landed on iTunes yesterday, July 7.
The video is very powerful, the singer is closed in a glass box and forced to see images of herself that do not represent her at all. The video is a metaphor for explaining the social media impact on young generations.
Whitney Woerz said about the video, “It’s incredibly difficult to be a teenager right now. With social media it’s easy to become lost in pressure to be and act a certain way” explains Whitney.“I want my fans to know that they are not alone and I hope my musical honesty encourages others to feel empowered to be their authentic selves.”
