Legendary designer Yohji Yamamoto used his latest runway show in Paris to debut his new Fall/Winter line for Y-3. Taking place on Sunday the Grand Palais, the show entitled NICE TO MEET YOU drew in much hype from fans and media alike. Y-3 has been going from strength to strength and this is just a step up the ladder.
Due to the ongoing collaboration with adidas, the show merged the outré footwear styles with a range of more subdued yet oversized silhouettes. The footwear focused on three styles overall, including Kaiwa, Ekika and the Bynder, while the most surprising story was of an upcoming collaboration with NBA player James Harden inspired by BOOST technology.
The clothing itself was mostly monochrome, but here featuring some navy blue color items alongside his signature black. The layer-heavy range used extended quilted liner jackets throughout, as well as oversized jackets, hoodies and sweats, perfect for the season. The trousers were typically loose but tapered, allowing each shoe to be fully visible and have a piece of the spotlight.
