The Indie/R&B realm just got more intriguing. Yasmina, a rising talent in the music sphere, has unveiled “funny girl,” the primary offering from her upcoming EP, the process, set to debut on October 13.
Transporting listeners into a whimsical dreamscape, the track draws inspiration from the classic Alice in Wonderland, seamlessly blending psychedelic undertones with R&B’s sultry vibes.
The narrative behind “funny girl” is deeply personal to Yasmina. Dedicated to the influential women in her life, particularly her mother (coinciding with her mother’s birthday), the track resonates with the power of female bonds and their redemptive strength.
Complementing the single, fans were treated to a Scott Pilgrim-inspired music video. A collaborative effort led entirely by female artists, the video showcases vivid animations crafted by Mia Aston.
The visual narrative mirrors the song’s thematic essence, portraying Yasmina navigating through a challenging experience with the help of a dear friend.
