Zayn Malik has signed a solo record deal with RCA and his reason behind it is because he wants to make “real music“. In one of his Tweets the ex-One Direction band member said “I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who I really am! #realmusic“.
Malik left One Direction earlier this year and since then, has been in the spotlight for Twitter feuds with Louis Tomlinson and Naughty Boy. Simon Cowell recently said he wouldn’t sign Malik onto his SyCo Label as he wanted to concentrate on One Direction and having them both on the same label didn’t seem fair.
Simon Cowell also took to Twitter to congratulate the singer by saying, “We have been working on this for a while and I am pleased to say congratulations to @Zaynmalik on signing with @RCARecords” and in another Tweet he said “I believe they are the perfect label for @ZaynMalik’s solo career and I am sure whatever they release together will be special“.
Numerous fans took to Twitter to congratulate the singer and to offer their support: @93niallsderby said: “I don’t care what y’all are saying when Zayn Malik goes on his first tour I will be there front row supporting him“. While there was a few minority that didn’t take the news so well with one (ex) fan, @5SOSFollowSquad, saying “I find it very hard to trust anything @Zaynmalik says now. #realme ? More like ‘I’ve been lying to you for 5 years, but still support me’“. Nevermind, the show must go on, so they say.
