Netflix have released the first trailer for their new documentary series Fire Chasers, set to revolve around firefighters attempting to deal with the rising epidemic that is Californian wildfires. Netflix cites 6,986 fires across 564,835 acres in 2016 alone, with the drought conditions in the state leading to longer ‘fire seasons’ over the past four decades.
The series comes from the makers of Deadliest Catch, and looks to capture the danger and perseverance of brave firefighters having to deal with an increasingly larger workload than before.
It’s hard to call a trailer focusing on something so real and dangerous “captivating”, but Netflix, as they always seem to do, certainly seem to have captured the magnitude of the danger as well as the engrossing real life people that have to risk their lives in order to save others’.
Fire Chasers begins streaming on all Netflix territories Friday, September 8.
