Justin Kurzel’s ‘Macbeth’ Adaptation Premieres At Cannes Festival | Film News
The Cannes Film Festival is showcasing the new Macbeth adaptation directed by Justin Kurzel today (May 23). The Australian director, whose last movie was the 2011 drama The Snowtown Murders, has recruited Michael Fassbender and Marion Collard to star in her adaptation of this famous Shakespeare. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kurzel described his movie as “… a Western. We shot it all outside. We were able to explore the madness in these brutal and unforgiving and beautiful landscapes, such as in Scotland. It gave it a whole new shade“. Kurzel is also working on the Assassin’s Creed game adaptation, Macbeth will be released on October 2 in the UK.
